Today I did mostly the stones on the beach.
This drawing is not just about taking my time. Its also about perspective. I want to draw the stones getting smaller and smaller into the distance and gradually fading into the darkness surrounding the shack. I also have to go into detail with each individual stone. I have heard this effect described as blank canvas syndrome. When you are filling in the negative space, the whole thing feels wrong and incomplete. But as soon as I put the rest of the stones down I am confident it will look stunning.
