I wanted to create the impression of creatures laying eggs. The creatures that make up the orbs of this orrery have been reproducing.
I used quinoa seeds and PVA glue to create the eggs. i painted them in yellow and watered down green. The idea is that the yellow will be seen through the green. This will hopefully create the impression of an inner core for the eggs. Like the rest of the model this was done with acrylic. This part of the sculpture is inspired by Eihort, a Lovecraftian monster made entirely out of Great Old One eggs. The difficulty is painting the stone parts of the sculpture around the eggs.
I am also considering metalling veins for the rock base. This was not something that was in the reference photos I found, but I think it would make the base more recognisable as rock.
