With Christopher Nolan taking on The Odyssey I though I would do some Greek mythology based art
This is Polyphemus the Cyclops. I am considering an extendable eye. But I am concerned this could just lead to him being an alien. You might aswell be in a Star Wars film. One thing I am set on is an affinity with the sea. I have given him a kind of exoskeleton that resembles the shells of molluscs. Note the curvaceous patterns on the arms. Also he had to be a lot more than just a giant human with one eye. So I am experimenting with things like giving him slightly wierd deformed hands. I want it to be thorough, everything about him has to be distinctive. If the viewer were given a lineup of hands, they have to be able to tell which one belongs to my cyclops.
