Began creating a new print today. I wanted to create something Pagan. I wanted it to have pleasant things like flowers but also something spooky. This artwork is heavily inspired by the 1973 film, The Wicker Man, Directed by Robin Hardy. The intention is to capture the charm of folklore; the desire to go on an adventure down a garden path, but also the fear of what might be at the end of it. And I also like the fact that it is timeless. This could easily be a scene from today or the ancient world. I very much like the idea of ancient powers still existing in the modern era, defying science and disrupting our understanding of the world.
