I drew more of the diamond pattern at the top of the drawing. My aim here is to show the pattern of the sea within some of the geometric shapes of the diamond. I will also draw some light actually escaping from those geometric shapes rather than just being contained with them. The aspect of the bizarre is important. The drawing is inspired by the Franklin Expedition; so I want to create a sense of travelling into unknown lands, and nothing being what it seems.
There were also some aspects of the sea I wanted to change. In the lower left hand corner there is an area of dark sea. There were originally a lot more of the black loop like shapes. I got rid of some of them because the line of shapes was running in parallel with the edge of the paper. It did not look very natural. You may also notice I have changed the window section of the ship. Before it looked a bit plain and geometrical. I wanted it to look more ornate and strange. I will place something in the white space below the windows. Depicting the curved shape of the hull is also proving challenging.
