Something for the Patron
This is the initial stages of a watercolor painting. The scene depicts Leighton Buzzard Market Square. Leighton Buzzard is where I have been selling the most so it seems a good idea to put the town in my artwork.
I am creating this initial sketch to get the proportions right. The pencil must not be too dark and heavy, or it will show through the paint. I do not have much experience with watercolors so I will be learning along the way with this artwork. I will be basing it on another painting I saw of Leighton Buzzard, which I believe depicts the town in the 19th century. I will do this aswell as I have always found past centuries more aesthetically pleasing than today. I would have to charge a huge amount if I sold the original so I think I will sell the painting as prints.
